TREASURE FOUND IN SRI PADMANABHASWAMY TEMPLE
Sri padmanabhaswamy temple is one of the famous temple in Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu bhagwan . The principal deity, Padmanabhaswamy is enshrined in the "Ananta-sayanam" posture (in the eternal sleep of Yoga-nidra on the serpent Ananta).This got world wide attention recent times The temple is now considered wealthier than the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh – by official records considered to be the richest shrine in India.due to the the treasure found inside the temple.It is  located within  eastfort near to KSRTC (Kerala state road transport corporation) bus stand This revelation has solidified the status of the Padmanabhaswamy temple as one of the wealthiest temples in India and with the final estimate of the wealth, it might overtake the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple
It is thought to be the wealthiest temple—having some Rs 320 billion (US$7.14 billion) in gold, coins and other treasures(nidhi) It is estimated that the value of the monumental items is close to Rs1 trillion (US$22.3 billion), making it the richest temple in the world. If the antique value is taken into account, this treasure will be worth 10 times the current market price.
The temple has 6 vaults (Kallaras), labeled as A to F for book keeping purpose by the Court, that are hidden under the sanctum sanctorum. While vaults A and B have been unopened over the past 130 years, vaults C to F have been opened from time to time. The two priests of the temple, the 'Periya Nambi' and the 'Thekkedom Nambi', are the custodians of the four vaults, C to F, which are opened periodically. The Supreme Court had directed that "the existing practices, procedures and rituals" of the temple be followed while opening vaults C to F and using the articles inside. Vaults A and B shall be opened only for the purpose of making an inventory of the articles and then closed.
Family members of the Travancore Royal family had approached the SC urging that media and the panel should be restricted from publishing details of the temple assets.supreme court appoints a five member panel for the proper functioning of temple.
