NEEM OIL EMULSION
This is highly effective against the instects which attacks the tender leaf and stem of the plants .
Method of preparation
Ingredients
Neem oil: 1 Lit
Laundry soap : 60 gm
Procedure
Boil about 500 ml of water add laundry soap and stir well until the soap dissolves.Add 1 lit of neem oil and stir well until it forms an emulsion.It should be diluted with water in the ratio 1:4 and spray on the plants with a sprayer.
TOBACCO SOAP SOLUTION
Aphids are among the most destructive insect pests on cultivated plants in temperate regions.This solution is highly effective against these Aphids.It is also active against most of the insects attacking the plants.It is one of the best and easy to make herbal insecticide. It can be made in home with some easily available reagent like tobacco, laundry soap etc.In malayalam it is known as pukayila kashayam(pukayila means tobacco )
Method of preparation of PUKAYILA KASHAYAM
Ingredients
Raw tobacco: 500 gm
Laundry soap (finely choped) : 120 gm
Procedure
Chop the tobacco into small size and put it in 4.5 lit of warm water and keep it for one day (maceration).filter the solution and remove the solid tobacco parts .Take 120 gm of laundry soap and dissolve it in small quantity of warm water and stirr well until it froths.add this soap solution to the tobacco extract and mix well .It is then diluted 6-7 times with water and spray on the plants .better results are observed if sprayed in morning.
NB: Quantities of the ingredients can be varied according to the requierd volume.
